Q.2.2 Digital footprints can be construed as trails that digital citizens leave online. Do
you think that digital footprints could become a problem? Discuss.

Yes I do think that a person’s digital footprint can become a problem.

According to vivint, 2018, ''People online can pick up on your routines and habits that you do online and start to stalk you and watch what you are doing online. When you were younger you may have done some things online that you shouldn’t have done and gone on sites that you shouldn’t have gone on. People will always be able to see what you have done online and might use it against you or to your disadvantage later on in life.

You can never take back what you have said or put online as people will always be able to find it somewhere on the internet. Even if you accidently say something or post something and delete it, somebody somewhere would have seen it. Today we will be looking at reputations being tarnished because of their digital footprint without even realizing what they were doing was going to hurt them. When you are applying for a job, your employee may look you up online. He/she might find something online that they don’t agree with and get a bad impression of you, which may be the reason for them not employing you.
Every single thing you post or like or click on the internet has the chance to either help you or create a rather large problem for you. The effect of anything you do has the chance to be either negative or positive.

Your digital footprint can cause a lot of problems in many different situations, even if it is by accident. You have to be extra careful when you do anything online as it will always be traceable''.

Q.1.2 Organisations such as Facebook, Airbnb and Uber have harnessed social capital to
grow their market shares and become major disruptive forces in their industries.
Define and explain how a digital citizen can build and enhance social capital.

According to mutual gain, 2018, ''citizen- we must follow a set of rules when we online to ensure that the technology is being used appropriately and responsibly by us the users. A digital citizen is the person who follows these rules and is regularly on the internet or electronic devices

Social capital- an economic idea that refers to the connections between individuals and entities that can be economically valuable

A digital citizen can build social capital by going on different social media sites and joining groups on these sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook, twitter and instagram.

These social media groups will allow you to exchange ideas, share your own views and plan to work together with people who have similar interests or careers as you. This will keep you connected and liked with different organisations and people who could result in helping you find a job or getting your name out on the internet to other organisations.

By being an active digital citizen one can be useful in helping to market organisations like airbnb and uber, besides marketing pr promoting other organisations, digital citizen can also market their business. If the business needs to get the massage around they should get it through digital citizens, in that way their message gets delivered by many people and carry the message that needs to be carried out''.
